Brothers' 60th Birthday Party

Nov 18, 2009| Dan started the evening off with Amazing Grace, this was for a tribute for our brother that just passed on. He had half the crowd tearing up. After that he played all of our requests, he also did Happy Birthday to the lighting of the cake. My brother told me that Dan's performance, is the BEST gift he had ever received. Dan's surprise performance was the icing on our cake. He was punctual, professional and most of all very friendly, and fit right in with our family. Well worth the money, and the music was wonderful. He made our party and us feel very special. We plan on booking him again for a future celebration. |

Bob's Red Mill World Champion...

Oct 23, 2009| We wanted to create an event to celebrate the homecoming of the Bob's Red Mill Golden Spurtle team. This was team that went to Scotland and had their Oatmeal selected the world's best. Dan's playing added to the event by creating the pagentry necessary for such an event. Dressed in his traditional garb and playing expertly, Dan's contribution to the event made it something that no one will forget. |

Golf Tournament Tribute was a success

Jul 6, 2009| I found Dan on a search for local Bagpipers and gave him a call. Dan was very easy to work with and enthusiastic about our event. We do an annual golf event at Skamania Lodge and over the last 9 months we lost three very close and dear friends, and we felt that a bagpiper would be a perfect and appropriate sendoff. Dan was awesome and easy to work with. A true professional and phenomenal player. Thank you Dan from all of us. |

Oh Danny Boy!

Jun 19, 2009| As a tribute to my Mother who had a Scottish Grandmother and so loved the bagpipes I ask Dan to play at her graveside services. When he started playing Amazing Grace I cannot describe the delightful lift of spirits in the group. My family didn't know that he was going to be there until they heard him start to play. Words cannot describe how beautiful the whole setting was. Thanks Dan! Shirley Holstad |

Peter's 60th Birthday Party

Apr 14, 2009| I hired Dan to surprise my husband at his 60th birthday party. What a surprise it was! We could hear Dan warming up the pipes outside the banquet room but people didn't quite know what was going on. Then in walks Dan! My husband's eyes got big a saucers... he was surprised at the impressive site before us. There were about 100 people in the room and all of us were mesmerized by the wonderful sound and fabulous performance. It was one of the highlights of the evening and the big kick off for a great party. After Dan played Peter went up to thank Dan... later Dan told me he didn't think that was the birthday celebrant... he was looking for an "old guy"... hey, 60's the new 40! Thanks, Dan for adding to the enjoyment! |

Veteran's Day Performance

Nov 21, 2008| Dan DelMain "the Portland Bagpiper" performed at Elite Care's Fanno Creek in Tigard for Veteran's Day. We have several residents who are veteran's and we honored them that day in many ways. Having Dan play his bagpipes was a memorable event they won't soon forget! He was extremely professional and informational. I personally enjoyed learning more about the bagpipes and appreciated his patience in answering all our resident's questions. I would highly reccomend him for any event you need an awesome bagpiper for!! |

Highly recommend Portland Bagpiper

Sep 5, 2008| We found Dan on the internet and were impressed with his website as well as with his experience that was detailed on the website. We contacted Dan by e-mail to set up his appearance at my Uncles Memorial Service, followed by his appearance again later on the same day at a graveside memorial service. Our contacts were initially by email, then we discussed the details over the phone. Dan was a professional throughout the process. He played the bagpipes beautifully and it was very moving for everyone in attendance. We had an opera singer as well as a quartet at the memorial service and one attendant said they were "fine until the bagpipes", then they lost it. It brought chills to many in attendance. Dan did a great job and we give him our highest recommendation! |

wedding

Aug 21, 2008| Daniel played at our wedding ceremony in August. He was very professional, and met with us beforehand to select music (and even played a preview of all his songs). He added such a unique touch to our service and we were so glad we went with Daniel. Our Scottish side of the family was very happy and everyone wanted their picture with him! Would reccomend 100%! |

Dan the piper's review

Jun 30, 2008| Dan recently played at our father-in-law's graveside and memorial services. We found Dan on the internet and emailed him to see if he would play for Dad while Dad was still able to enjoy the music himself. Dad died very quickly and we were saddened that he was not able to hear what we would later hear at each of the services. Many people commented on the beautiful music Dan provided. He played Amazing Grace plus other songs that Dan suggested. at the military service at the graveside. He then played at the memorial at Dad's church a week later. Dan walked from the back of the church up to the front, stood and played and then continued playing as he walked back down the isle. It was so moving that people asked me fro his name and number. I will call on Dan again. He was prompt to answer our emails and was on time and had a very reasonalbe price. |

Bagpipe performance by Dan

Mar 19, 2008| I recently hired Dan to play at my dad's wake. I found his website, wrote him an email and had a response back in less then an hour. We worked everything out via email and Dan arrived on time and ready to play. He played for about 45 minutes and then played Taps (which he learned for this event) and Amazing Grace following a 21 gun salute. It sent chills down me! Very powerful and emotional! Dan did an awesome job and his music was well received. My dad loved bagpipe music and we often heard it playing in our house growing up. Dan's performance was a perfect addition to our celebration of my dad's life. Thank you! |
